BEND, Oregon (April 30, 2018) — Throughout the month of May 2018, Off the Grid Studios, in conjunction with The Orvis Company, will be celebrating the first public release of the fly fishing film “Corazón.” To honor the release, Off the Grid Studios will engage in a month-long campaign focused on each of the three films in “The Scorpion Trilogy”— a collection of fly fishing movies roughly six years in the making.
Today is a monumental day for our entire team at Off the Grid Studios. It’s May 1st. The global premiere of the full-length cut of our film, Dubai on the Fly, takes place on our Amazon channel and Vimeo (use code DubaiFly) today. The film festival version has been touring the fishing world for many months, hitting over +170 cities.
In 2014 members of the Beattie Outdoor Productions crew set out to create what was then considered by most to be a crazy concept: a documentary fly fishing film about the carp. Yes, that’s right. Carp. Over the course of a year, team members Austin Trayser, RA Beattie and Steven Yochum traveled the USA filming passionate carp anglers around the states. From California to Illinois, and numerous locations inbetween, we documented some truly amazing locations.
One of our all time favorite fly fishing magazines is The Drake. Owner & editor Tom Bie recently published a great little vignette on the Green Drake – a prolific insect which hatches in stunning numbers on various trout streams – and drives anglers and trout wild. RA Beattie was honored to write a short blurb about this legendary insect.
