BEND, Oregon (April 30, 2018) — Throughout the month of May 2018, Off the Grid Studios, in conjunction with The Orvis Company, will be celebrating the first public release of the fly fishing film “Corazón.” To honor the release, Off the Grid Studios will engage in a month-long campaign focused on each of the three films in “The Scorpion Trilogy”— a collection of fly fishing movies roughly six years in the making.
Today is a monumental day for our entire team at Off the Grid Studios. It’s May 1st. The global premiere of the full-length cut of our film, Dubai on the Fly, takes place on our Amazon channel and Vimeo (use code DubaiFly) today. The film festival version has been touring the fishing world for many months, hitting over +170 cities.

Greetings from Antalaha, Madagascar. We’re on location working on a current project, but eager to share an update regarding our recent projects and activities. Our crew has clocked plenty hours afield this summer, but big things are afoot. From a new creative collective to the acquisition of an Airstream trailer, we’ve covered a lot of ground in 2015.
Over the last six months, we’ve formed Off the Grid Studios, a full-service green media production powerhouse, equipped to knock out some incredible stories from around the globe. Joining the Off The Grid creative collective is some massive talent: Captain Jack Films (Jako Lucas) of South Africa, Trayser Media (Austin Trayser) out of Bozeman, Montana, and independent creatives such as photographers Bryan Gregson and Brian Grossenbacher, writers Taylor Anderson and Sarah Grigg, audio engineers Ben Beattie and Jeremiah Pierson, award-winning art director Lindsay Minnich, videographer Steven Yochum, motion designer Marco Milosevic, graphic designer Sean Leary, and studio musician Dave Gulick. Pulling upon these distinct talents, we’ll continue to provide clients top creative services and to deliver epic outdoor media.
The Beattie Productions / Off the Grid Studios Crew is hitting the road June 19th to shoot a fly fishing film for the 2016 Fly Fishing Film Tour. Our team has partnered with Adventure Destinations International to stalk the largest northern pike in the Northern Hemisphere.
It’s human nature to conjure images of a new destination. Our ability to project is nothing short of astounding: We imagine what a place might look like, what adventures will emerge and what story will unfold. All we really know is that Saskatchewan is tough to spell and that we’re heading to its northern wilds this week.
A quick map glance reveals large swathes of road-less territory. More than 100,000 lakes dot the north country of Saskatchewan. We’ll be fishing some of the most remote bodies of water in North America. Adventure Destinations runs three fishing lodges and six outpost camps in Central and Northern Saskatchewan, all of which offer access to some of the most pristine and untouched angling on the planet. Using float planes, we’ll jump from lake-to-lake and camp-to-camp. Last year the outfitters broke a long-standing lake record, when a client landed a 53-inch pike.
We’re taking the Off the Grid Studio concept mobile! Please meet Lola, the newest addition to the Off the Grid Studios / Beattie Productions team. In the coming months, this vintage 60’s Airstream will become a state of the art green media house. Powered 100% by solar, the studio will feature editing bays, a recording studio and a few extra custom additions. We’re going to complete the renovation by August – so please follow the journey! We’ll be posted updates here, on instagram (@beattie_outdoor_productions), twitter and facebook.
Here’s a short video we shot, produced and edited for the Winston Rod Co. Filmed with good friend and colleague Austin Trayser. Enjoy.
