In 2014 members of the Beattie Outdoor Productions crew set out to create what was then considered by most to be a crazy concept: a documentary fly fishing film about the carp. Yes, that’s right. Carp. Over the course of a year, team members Austin Trayser, RA Beattie and Steven Yochum traveled the USA filming passionate carp anglers around the states. From California to Illinois, and numerous locations inbetween, we documented some truly amazing locations.

2015 Fly Fishing Film Tour and Iron Fly in Bend, OR

fly-fishing-film-tour-iron-fly-beattieOne of our key projects every year is the creation of content for the fly fishing film tour. Our company has been creating movies for this awesome and exciting event for almost a decade. In fact, we’ve had media in the film tour every year since it started. This year, we had two films in the tour – Mongolia: A Fly Fishing Evolution and CARPLAND.

Our crew travels regionally to view the film screening at theaters around the Pacific Northwest, but we’re always super excited to catch the film in our home town of Bend, OR. The films played to two sold out crowds, two nights in a row, at the beautiful Tower Theater. Read more

The 2015 fly fishing film tour kicked off last weekend and our crew was on hand for the festivities. The venue was unreal. Check the image above (thanks F3T for the image) to get a sense of the layout. Extremely high vaulted ceilings, central viewing area and a hugh screen – surrounded by “terraced” viewing balconies.
