One of our key projects every year is the creation of content for the fly fishing film tour. Our company has been creating movies for this awesome and exciting event for almost a decade. In fact, we’ve had media in the film tour every year since it started. This year, we had two films in the tour – Mongolia: A Fly Fishing Evolution and CARPLAND.
Our crew travels regionally to view the film screening at theaters around the Pacific Northwest, but we’re always super excited to catch the film in our home town of Bend, OR. The films played to two sold out crowds, two nights in a row, at the beautiful Tower Theater.
Following the second showing, we complimented the night with a nightcap of fly tying and a little friendly competition – PigFarm style! We were proud to host the 1st Iron Fly Competition in Bend. If you are unfamiliar with the event, check out the website, but in essence the event is a super fun, laid-back and laughter-filled fly tying party. We had a pro-am style’d comp, with a host of some of Bend’s finest tyers at one table – and a rag tag group of amateurs at an adjacent table. The participants laughed their way through multiple challenges with blindfolds, left handed challenges and more surprises. Winners walked (or stumbled) away with everything from new Costa sunglasses – to custom PigFarm “shotgun” Koozies. We were stoked to host the event. It’s gonna happen again next year – so if you’re in the Central Oregon area next February – come see us for the Fly Fishing Film Tour and Iron Fly! Huge thanks to Costa Sunglasses for sponsoring the Iron Fly, and the films this year! Would not be possible without Costa!
